I Need Some Information, Please

Rayjay, I think you are in denial, you can't be serious...heat coming off of a Harley? What next free stage kits as sales incentives for HD?

Ksquare - heres my response to your questions.

. I'm a conservative rider. What can I expect for gas mileage. Can I get 200 miles out of what would be a 5 gallon tank? - yes, if you can stay conserevative. I have an R3T and averaged 38+ mpg on recent 2 up trip, i've also gotten 32 mpg when ridening less conservativly. It can be hard to ride conserveate on a Rocket.

3. I've heard the RIIIT is a "heat pump" in hot weather which will fry my legs. Down here is Florida it can be 90+ for weeks at a time. What's the deal, especially in traffic? I live in Arizona and find it no hotter than any other bike I've ridden. When moving I don't seem to feel any hefat and only in extreme traffic do I notice any warmth but its no bad.

4. Is there a decent luggage rack for the bike when set up as a 2 seater? I found a solo rack on the accessory website, but what about when set up for two up with the QR sissybar? The Triumph rack fits on the quick release sissy bar - be sure you also get the new fender trim kit or just leave off trim

5. What are your most common technical problems? clutch pull rod replaced under warrenty

Thought I would through my 2 cents in on this also. I have an 08 R3T and ride in FL a couple of times a year. Just came back on Sunday.

Hope this helps. I have had a couple of Harleys, rode a lot of the last New Indians from 1999 - 2000 time frame, know all kinds of folks with all kinds of Harley clones. Have two old shovel heads myself and stock in H-D. Wouldn't trade my R3T for any V-twin. Unless it was one of the CVO baggers that I could sell for enough money to some wannabee "biker" to buy two new Rockets.

Guys:

Thanks very much for all of the input. I'm going to go see my dealer today and see what, if anything, can be worked out.

You've all been very helpful.

This bike generates less heat than a Valkyrie or a Harley. It is the coolest big bike I have ever had and the fan never has come on except in town.

It's cooler than any Harley I ever had, cooler than the FJR1300 I traded for it, cooler than my 1200 Trophy. My fan only comes on when I am stuck in traffic. Gotten a little heat with a strong wind from the side sometimes. Living on the coast we get some pretty strong ones and I ride on some roads between the islands and have had some heat come back. Other than that, nice and cool. Wish it would get hotter sometimes when it's cold to warm my feet.
