Went and saw her in the flesh today. Will not know how much rust is there until i start removing the paint, looks like lots of filler here and there. We had the engine running but there is a problem with the clutch so no gears yet..She has been in a garage since 1992..
Looking forward to getting the paint off and seeing how bad she is..
Gee @ant that brings back memories for me also. Dad had a Austin A30 van grey in colour, there was an A35 too which had slightly more horsepower. Slightly, very slightly indeed. One of the most simple and plain motors to work on as I found out years later in life. Mini's both Austin and Morris , MG all used the same engine blocks with changes to cam grinds, carbs and heads. Good little auto in their day for what they were. That basic engine was still used up until the early seventies in the Morris 1000 vans if my memory serves me correctly. Hmm showing my age here. And yes I did watch Mr Magoo as a kid @TOMCAT he he.
No insult meant. That is an ugly car. Why not get a '68 XKE ?
When i look at her she makes me smile it's full of cuteness....As for the Jag it's way out of my budget.Mark Evans did a E type project on UK TV total cost when finished was around £80,000....Cheap E type projects are like hens teeth.

@ant I had a lot closer look and you have probably got an A35 model as the A30 didn't have indicators the earlier models had what was called trafficators which popped out of the door pillars when a switch on the dash was turned right or left.
