I hate my stock mirrors..!!

My stock mirrors (2005 Rocket) are rubbish and don't let me see what's directly behind me - only to the sides. Has anyone any helpful ideas or ideas for replacements. Has anyone fitted the Triumph oval ones ? Does anyone know what thread size the mirror stems are ?

PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!

Incidentaly - I am not greatly fussed about looks, but want to see who's behind me..

P.S. Owned my Rocket just over a week now after 4 years with a HD Street Bob which i always thought was the ultimate answer. How wrong was I ? Never say never but I just can't see me going back.....ever!!

I have the Triumph teardrop style and I think they are as good as you are going to get without going wider than the handlebars.
Others like the under the handlebar type for an unobstructed view but Ive never tried them.
 
I recently installed the BLACK Triumph teardrop mirrors on my Rocket...look great on the bike.
 
You can keep the stock mirror stalks and just replace the mirror heads. I bought a set of Yamaha take-offs from a Warrior for $20 and they have a much better field of view due to their shape. The aftermarket mirrors tend to blurr easily, such as the Kuryakyn magnums. Whatever you do, don't get mirrors with flat glass...they are useless. Make sure they are convex style to prevent excess vibration in the view.

Any metric mirror head should work if they are the 10 mm threads...good luck.
 
i've got harley mirrors on mine,
I had them laying around.
The wife has Triumph teardrop mirrors,
and she likes them a LOT better than the micky mouse ear mirrors.
I used the universal adapter from new bonneville,
but any metric bike mirrors should work.
 


I did the same thing. Great solution and not very expensive.
