The solder on the bottom overheats and melts causing a broken connection.



The brown wire is supposed to be attached to the connector that is between the white and yellow wire.

You can fix it but I wouldn't trust it.

Is this only on the original switches or are the new type after the recall doing it also.
 
Me too I can see now !!

All went without a hitch didn't even need the instructions, threading the wires through the H/L shell gromet was the hardest part, sore fingers now.
Refitting the lens unit was a bit fiddly trying to adjust the space for the extra socket connectors, but great!
Now I can switch off the Low Beam power before starting, pilot lights are still on but thats no problem.. So Mod is done and I am happy
EB H4 Twin with Low Beam switch...Fantastic Kit well worth the $ 65 I reckon.

PS In case anybody is wondering where I mounted the L/Beam switch, I have heated grips and the Handle Bar Switch Box had a spare hole even has a Lamp logo under the switch..Perfect
 
Tonight was first night ride with new EB kit fitted. It is brighter & I can tell this because people are flashing me on dipped beam, so I can see better but no one else can because I keep blinding them. I think I may need to adjust them again, anybody know how to set them up at the correct position, I read a while ago about measuring the hight of the lamps & setting them about 4inches lower at about 25 Feet distant, anyone confirm please or offer better advice.
