I bought one!!! now questions

Hi Guys -

I just paid for my new Rocket yesterday and I can't stop grinning ear to ear. My friends are already tired of hearing aboutthis from me (also riders, also some on non-rocket triumphs) so I figured I would come here to continue my high. I can't pick it up until Friday, so I have nothing else to keep me level!

Its a 2008 base in red. I can't wait.

I do have a few questions that Ican not seem to find answers to. I'm pretty tall, and like my legs more straight forward. The victory I just sold had 3" extensions on the forward controls. Going from that to the rocket almost makes it feel more like a standard. I can't seem to find any off the shelf products to relocated the pegs/floorboards. Is anyone here familiar with some? I would rather not get highway bars since I have to sneak the bike into the garage with my other "toy" (1968 vette). I will be width limited.

Also on that note - anyone know what the radiator width is? I want to make sure its going to fit. I intentionally didn;t figure this out before hand, since I didn't want to preclude me from getting the rocket .

Hi JV........welcome to pack....Ime not sure about the width of things....does it really matter....do like we did......make a wider opening....

Congrats and welcome aboard. I believe that there is a Raask set that allows you to move the pegs. You can view them on www.raask.com.

Suggestion #1 - When you get your bike home, take a set of allen wrenchs and check the tightness of everything that you can see. Some dealers who have some inexperienced hands doing setups don't always tighten everything. Make sure you get the setup checklist from the dealer.

hey snuffcity - I'm actually looking to sell the vette in the not to distant future. Only thing holding me back is the transmission is still sitting on my kitchen table in pieces!

tdragger (or anyone) - do you konw where to buy the raask pieces. I found one place in AU, but the prices are >$700 which seems a bit much for control relocations. I was hoping for somehting a little more reasonable. Heck - floorboars are only $400.

Anyway - still got the poo eating grin, and can not wait till friday! :bch:

well, with 22" at the radiator, I should have plenty of room to spare. The handlebars are going to be close, but may just have to notch the vette to get them both in.

Unfortunately, the more I look at this site, the longer the shopping list becomes for the RIII once it shows up... I need to get the bike ASAP so I can ride it, not window shop off other's pictures. Freaking weather in PA isn't helping me.

Three is a crowd ion my garage. I think a fourth is coming this fall. Most likely a vintage '67 Norton Scrambler.
