How to take out float in Fuel Tank.

I am replacing the fuel tank on my 2121 Rocket 3 GT. Everything is done except taking out the float that is in the tank so I can switch it over. I realize it is probably not difficult but can not really see in to assess the situation. Has anybody done it? Does it have some form of clip or screw/bolt ? In the replacement tank I see the bracket but it really does not help me.
In case you are wondering. Someone kicked it over denting the tank and of course a couple other things damaged.

Sadly it happened when I was not by the Rocket
