I don't know anything about the PIAA bulb but keep in mind that even with the stock bulbs the high beams illuminate very well. It was the limited visability with low beam that got me looking at bulbs, even with the sylvania bulbs the low beams point at the ground. Adjusting them up where I liked them made the high beams point skyward. So if you are looking for bulbs for the same reason, you will still have the same problem with the low's whatever bulb you put in. I ended up mounting lights under the radiator to make the lowbeams travel a little further.

There has been gallons of ink spilled on the subject of "pure white" and blue light headlights since they were introduced. There are volumes on the subject that can be found on line. I'm NOT an expert but I do know that anything higher than about 3200K (around where pure white is) starts to tint blue and there fore LOSES illumination power. The human eye seas things better when illuminated by pure white. We are not built to see well in the Blue/purple/violet/utraviolet range. Stick with something in the 2800K-3600K range. Those blue lights do NOTHING but look blue. Even good HIDs are 3200K.
If you want to see what a proper HID looks like go check out the new Mercedes and BMWs that have them from the factory. WOW!

I was at the dealer yesterday anyhow so I bought a PIAA H4 for $50. Same price as on eBay and they dropped it in while I was there...no charge. The other guys in the shop said good things about them and my research said it was a good replacement bulb.

I gotta agree--at 135W, it's pretty bright! Kind of a purplish bright white. Haven't tied it at night yet, so we'll see.
