Hello from Blue Ridge,GA.

Well the bike is 5 years old. It ain't no bargain. Good price. You can go down to your local dealer and get a new R3R out the door for 15000 us...just go get you one.[/quote]

That did cross my mind also...

Welcome from just over the ridge here in tn.
Don't worry about the price if you like it and want it buy it!!
May see ya out and about one day. You will enjoy either one Ime sure but if you want to ride 2 up with comfort I say don't go with the anything but the r3t.

I did the math and I can add the long hual seat ,riderback rest. engine guards adjustable pegs, widsheild and still be under nada.. add for 3 year warrenty and keep payment around 210- 215. sounds like heck of a deal.

no other problems to look fore ?

wish me luck for if it rains monday they wont let me test drive it....bummer. really ready to do paper work if I like it
"" and I'm sure I will"'

Welcome from Scotland. Go get that bike!

no other problems to look fore ?

Yes...one other thing...beware of the Perma-grin you will have plastered on your mug for the rest of the time you own the bike...it doesn't go away. Oh, and one other thing, hang on tight when you open it up on the test ride. Now off you a$$ on on your feet...go get the one that speaks to your soul.

R3Tex say's "Yes...one other thing...beware of the Perma-grin you will have plastered on your mug for the rest of the time you own the bike...it doesn't go away."

I cant wait I have always been the type " bigger is better" "as a rider, racer most my life when i seen this bike i had to have one...you know braggin rights. I no longer race...motocross,hairscrables,and ice racing just enjoy a great ride often..very often.

again thanks and i will let you all know how it goes monday....pray for no rain!

The '09 had all the bugs ironed out but don't have ABS, gear indicator or fuel gauge. They're NOT Roadsters.
The one in the pic is definitely a Standard (not a Classic) and is probably a latish one as they came out with the sissy bar and rack as well as a screen - I notice the screen mounts (well worth having in case to want to put one of those silly things on).
The '09s are also the fastest (especially the claret ones) and most sought after model.
Don't get too caught up on tyre prices. You'll go through a few and they're just the price of admission. If you can't afford them maybe look for something lighter and less powerful. Same deal with fuel consumption.
Welcome aboard.

Just be aware of the different riding position of the Roadster over the earlier models. It's not easily interchangeable. The Roadster has more mid-mounted foot pegs that sit lower, and the seat is a little taller. It's a much more upright position that some like and others hate. I'm not a fan.

Welcome from Wa. St. 2011 R3R owner sense Oct. 2013. Breaking in new rear Metz. Only thing I can come pair it to is balding 8300+ mi Metz that came on bike. Replaced at 9000 mi. Like the new Mets for ride and feel from straight to laying over in curves. Feels very stable. No difference in curve just push the bar and go...

The 09 STD would be my pick not keen on either the Touring's or Roadster's the seating position is the cruncher, sit on all and feel what is the most natural position for you, Motor/ electronics are all much the same and can all be tuned to same output, I have never had ABS and really would not base a decision on it about the only thing that you will want to change is the seat and depends on your size, I am about 240lb and I have a Corbin dual tour and can ride comfortablly all day whereas the Triumph std and Gel seat were not comfortable for me
