2005 Rocket Classic, 2014 Rocket Roadster
Hello guys. Converted Harley rider. Bought a 2005 Roadster a year ago, only 3000 miles on it. Love it so much am looking to obtain a 2014. Wondering if there are any significant changes from the 2013 to the 2014 model, and if 2015 models will be updated in any way. Saw a couple of posts on here stating that they got dealers to lower the retail price. The first dealership I went to wouldn't budge. Anyone in Arizona area with a low mileage 2013 or 2014 they want to sell?

I've got a 2009 model with 125,000klms on it that I'd part with for the right money .. you willing to pick it up ? If you get here in the next few days it'll be on the East Coast , after that you'll have to come over to Western Australia. Let me know ASAP ... Oh yeh , Welcome from one of the Aussies

Welcome. If you have a 2005 Roadster it will be worth an absolute fortune - they only came out in 2010. What you have is most likely a Standard.

As for 2015 models, they're going to have either a 2.5 triple or 2.8 V6 as an option, headlight relay, a decent horn, choice of 180, 240 or 300 rear wheel, a truly comfortable touring seat, decent adjustable suspension, a horn that doesn't sound like a roadrunner and a customisable riding position. I wish! Actually your guess is as good as ours.

I believe Triumph UK have been consulting with XHDSkip so it's quite possible the new 2015 model could be sporting a springer front end and a 4 foot tall tripod sissy bar

Which dealer did you try. The one in Tucson sucks. GoAZ in Phoenix gave me a good deal when I bought my 2011 R3R new from them.

Welcome from Sunny (but currently dark) South Florida! I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here and good luck on finding your new ride.

So sorry for my ignorance. Sure looks like a Roadster and it sure isn't a Touring. I guess there were huge changes to the Rocket in 2010.

So sorry for my ignorance. Sure looks like a Roadster and it sure isn't a Touring. I guess there were huge changes to the Rocket in 2010.

Main changes were ABS, 2 huge exhaust pipes instead of 3, fuel gauge and gear indicator, riding position change with feet moved back and down. Roadsters only came only in gloss black and matt black with the red/white stripes being added in 2014 along with more black and less chrome. Pre 2010 models were called just R3 or Standard and Classic. Classic is 2 tone, has boards instead of pegs and pull back handlebar and came with a dual touring seat instead of the tandem set up on the Standard. There was also a Tourer model - not to be confused with the Touring - which was just a Classic with screen and bags. 2010 saw a claimed power increase (which wasn't borne out in fact) and in 2014 Triumph de restricted the first 3 gears - something we all did pretty simply anyway. The change with the biggest impact was to the riding position which some people like and others hate. I'm the latter.
