Planning on sending my headers off my 2022 Rocket 3R to Jet Hot High Performance Coatings for heat and cosmetic reasons. I was wondering, is there anything I need to be aware of doing this? Being the first time I ever attempted this on my bike, just a little nervous. Any suggestions and help would be appreciated.

do not force the bolts/nuts on the exhaust to the head, loosen them up after a nice hot ride. If any of them bind, put some candle wax on them when they are hot. WORKS like magic. install with ( i hate this stuff) antiseize copper base

Hi,
I have a 2021 Triumph Rocket 3R Black only done to date 8500mls. Since June I have encountered some underlying issues due to overheating. First a scheduled oil service as normal uncovered coolant in the oil hence the overheating. On further investigation there was a crack in the head gasket. This ultimately melted coolant parts, cam cover guides plus a plethora of important components under the fuel tank and around the engine. After 22 man hours dropping the engine, head gasket off, all the engine bolts off, sump Gasket, including oil we now have found due to heat build up that the piston rings and valve seals have failed hence high usage of burnt oil and blue smoke on exhaust exits after ignition light up. After arguing the point with my Triumph Dealer it was honoured on warranty as it was out of warranty to the tune of £8500 plus British Pounds. Basically this is all pre combustion and the conclusions is that this does NOT happen normally on a Triumph Rocket 3R engine assembled in Hinckley Leicestershire in the UK. Mine was a freak situation possible assembly line mistake but it happens but at 8500mls. So be careful before you start messing with engine internals...it could open a big can of worms further down the line....just thought you needed to know!

@ Eric Ray... what was the difficulty in getting the heat shields off? I'm thinking of changing my blacked out outer parts with stainless so the heat shields would be the first to go.

Manufacturer uses lock tight on those screws. So you need to heat up headers to running temperature. You shouldn't have any problems. Just don't burn your fingers like I did 😫

Received my headers from Jet Hot Performance Coatings today. They look awesome! Now they match exhaust tips. Waiting on gaskets before I install them.
