Hasnt ran in three (3) years

Hey all. I am going to attempt to get my fathers Rocket running as I am now the owner of it. I consider myself pretty mechanically inclinded but I am wondering if there is anything in particular that I should focus on when starting this bike considering it hasnt ran in approx three years???? Thanks for the help.

fresh gas and a strong battery..fire that sucker up..and run some seafoam through it..

Fresh oil couldn't hurt. Check the air box to be sure no critters have made nests.

Then change that oil and coolant, and be good to flush the brake fluid as well.

Nope not yet. I only get home on the weekends. S I am hoping and praying all goes well.

yeah, suck the old gas out first with one of those squeeze hand bulb plastic tubing things..Walmart has 'em..new mid grade gas..after ya get it running..some Seafoam on the shakedown run..probably need a new battery..

Well I got a new battery this morning put it in. Started it. (Old gas was red from stable figured wtf why not) started it let it warm up fully. Checked for leaks. Put helmet on filled up tank with new gas. Bout two gallons than rode around 60 sum miles. Runs great happy as can be at the moment. Needs a new front rubber bad though :RockOn:
