Tire

Thanks for all the input on my cornering problem. Now I have to feel "REAL STUPID" and tell you what the problem was. I aired up the tires to 42 rear and 34 front just before my first ride. When I got home I checked the air pressure once again and found that the front tire had 18Lbs. left in it. The center valve stem was leaking. I tightened the center stem and put on some sealed caps to stop this problem. Now the bike performs like all the other bikes except for the fact that it is much heavier.

Don't be hard onya self GOM its just a learning curve Sir

Glad you found it could have been serious at speed.. Congrats

Take Care ride safe.....

Tires on cornering

I am almost too embarrased to tell you what i found out, but i will. I had checked the tire pressure in both tires before our ride and had 54 in the rear and 34 in the front. The next day after the trip and posting my problem i rechecked the tires and found that the back was o.k. But the front had leaked through the valve stem and only had 18lbs of air in it. I put 34 lbs back in it after tightening the inner valve stem core and it handle perfect. Talk about feeling "stupid". Thanks for all your input and i won't be forgetting this again!

Thats why we are all here making suggestions.. some rude
May I say? so long as you learn from your mistakes.. all is forgiven :bch:
Oh! I take it 54psi is just a mirror image of is 45psi
..Or are you trying to make a Fatter rear tyre there

I've ridden a lot of bike over the years too, but the Rocket is more finicky about air pressure than any others. I run a Bridgestone front and rear and really like the tires. They have about 10k miles on them and still plenty of wear left. I'm really happy with them

I need to stop leaving my desktop open. My wife now wants me to buy one of those little bells to keep in my pocket....and it doesn't have anything to do with the air that leaks out of my tires.

Cos its so freekin heavy i reckon.
