Just returned to the R111 fold after around six years away. Last two bikes 1700 Thunderbird Storm and a Yamaha Royal Star Venture, loved the Storm, Venture was very comfy, but neither were a Rocket 111! So it had to be done.
2010 R111 Classic and the Wife’s named it already! Ruby
I have tried a back rest, I don’t really get on with them. And the wife don’t like them…….. they get in the way when she wants to punch me in the kidneys!!
Fire the bike and let it idle (no tochee touchee the throttle) until the cooling fan kicks on. The fuel map adaptation will reset your fuel mix based on the slightly higher flowing exhaust. After the fan kicks on you can let it run another 60 seconds to be sure, but that should be all you need to do. If it has a decel pop after doing the 'tune' that you don't like you will need to adjust the fuel tables on the last 6% of throttle to get rid of it. That would require a TuneECU program license, android device to run it, OBD reader with a chip enabled cable to link to the bike's ECU.
