Excelente to hear. Anybody know how long the GPS battery actually lasts (not just what they claim), when not attached to the bike battery? I assume there's cigarette lighter connector for the car as well...Amazon's sounding better and better.
You don't want the GPS from abroad unless you are going to be using it abroad. You want maps of the US if this is where you ride, and you need support to get the maps updated, etc, etc.
I resisted paying this much for long, long time. VERY sorry I waited. It is the second most important accessory I ever bought for any bikes, (right after the replacing the Rocket III rear shocks.
Gotcha on the 10 times....so, I'll assume they can tell you whether or not you're getting Garmin support...they seem to be clueless generally....the support's not a service you keep paying for, just a 1 shot deal I assume...peace.
Not sure what you mean by this, Fish. When you register your Garmin with them (even a second hand one) they sign you up to 'My Garmin' which offers support through the whole life of the product. I've found them to be very helpful. One thing if you buy second hand though - the previous owner has to confirm to Garmin that they have in fact sold it to you, and it's not a stolen one, assuming that someone else has it registered.

That's helpful info...so it doesn't matter who I buy it from if it's new, just need to register it....these weasles were telling me it was coming from outside the country, there's no American warranty or Garmin support...I guess they confused me. Unless something changes, I'll probably buy it new from Amazon and then register it. Thanks. Fish
If its from outside the US, the likelihood is that it wouldn't have the American maps with it, so I would steer clear of that. Buying maps seperately is bloody expensive.

Be careful when they say USA warranty. Sometimes they just meen that the warranty is a US third party deal. You must jump through hoops to get it upheld.
