GPS Garmin Zumo 550 Fraud

Fish: Amazon will not let you down on most of their products as Juggs has said. If anything goes wrong with it they do stand behind their sales.

Thanks, Native 1. Yeah, leaning toward them b/c of the name. Tempted to just go for it, but think I'll wait till Friday just in case it comes down.

I'll back up the Amazon bit, i sent e-mail about saitek keyboard not working, didn't get reply but next day new keyboard arrived.

They have now e-mailed return details, with free postage and pre print labels.

Outstanding

Excelente to hear. Anybody know how long the GPS battery actually lasts (not just what they claim), when not attached to the bike battery? I assume there's cigarette lighter connector for the car as well...Amazon's sounding better and better.

Not sure what you mean by this, Fish. When you register your Garmin with them (even a second hand one) they sign you up to 'My Garmin' which offers support through the whole life of the product. I've found them to be very helpful. One thing if you buy second hand though - the previous owner has to confirm to Garmin that they have in fact sold it to you, and it's not a stolen one, assuming that someone else has it registered.

That's helpful info...so it doesn't matter who I buy it from if it's new, just need to register it....these weasles were telling me it was coming from outside the country, there's no American warranty or Garmin support...I guess they confused me. Unless something changes, I'll probably buy it new from Amazon and then register it. Thanks. Fish

If its from outside the US, the likelihood is that it wouldn't have the American maps with it, so I would steer clear of that. Buying maps seperately is bloody expensive.

Fishbein!
I bought my Zumo 550 here at buydig.com $608.47 + free shipping with USA warranty. I recommend this site, I also bought a video camera there also a couple of years ago. http://www.buydig.com/shop/searchresult ... d=zumo+550

Be careful when they say USA warranty. Sometimes they just meen that the warranty is a US third party deal. You must jump through hoops to get it upheld.
