There have been a ton of posts about how/where to attach your GPS.

You can wired directly to the battery which some have done.
You can wire into the heated grip circuit.
You can wire your own relay.

Use the SEARCH in the upper right with GPS wiring...

Hope it helps.

I've got some pictures of mine in my photo album, I put it on the left side handlebar. I ran the wires underneath the gas tank and have it attached directly to the battery. I believe the Zumo 550 came with everything so it shouldn't take you too long.

I've got a Garmin Zumo 550 that I am going to install. Is there a good location to attach the wiring?

G'day gwilliams290.. I've also got a Zumo 550 that I had on a previous bike and want to mount to my R3T. Previously I routed the wiring under the fuel tank directly to the battery with an in-line fuse, pretty simple process really.

I'd be interested in how and where you intend mounting your GPS. The left side of bars seems about right for the Touring.

I also want to mount an accessories socket for charging my mobile phone if anyone has any ideas I'd like to hear from you????;)

And G'Day to you too, EmuOz. I'm going to move slowly on the GPS mount. There is limited space at the handlebars. The bike has, in addition to the standard gauges, a clock, a fuel gauge, a turbo boost gauge and a radar detector. There only seems to be one space open but then I couldn't put the ignition key in and out. I could do without the clock, maybe, because the GPS would have one.
Ratboy turned me on to the "Search" location on the toolbar at the top. Go there and put in "GPS Wiring" and you'll get loads of answers.

Thanks mate. I've got plenty of room for the GPS. Don't particularly like the clamp on mount that comes with the Zumo so might work on that a little and have a plug located up front for quick disonnecting the whole thing when not touring. Cheers mate...and stay upright:cool:
