How about an insulating wall between the filter and the engine to reduce warm/hot air being drawn in as easily?.
This was done using some Nomex/Kevlar honeycomb bits that Jim sent me. Light, stiff and fireproof.
But anything that insulates would probably do. i.e NOT METAL. Dropped straight onto the mounts for the Triumph plenum - even reused the original captive nuts and screws. I have since run a bit of rubber edging across the top edge, as it was snagging the rubber hoses a bit.
