Good morning from Kent

Hi Paul and welcome from a fellow Brit. We're in the minority on here but it doesn't matter as it's one big, helpful international forum. Beauty of it being worldwide is there's always someone on line to help.

Regarding dust cover there have been several on eBay. As you say a standard one is too small. IIRC they're about £60, so I didn't bother, just use an old sheet as the Rocket lives in a nice warm garage.

Polish wise I know STR owners with the matte paint use Mr Sheen.

Finally there should be some good weather this weekend and if you have chance to get out, you'll absolutely love it. She's very nimble in spite of her size, has a good presence on the road and the torque will stretch your arms.

Enjoy

Hi Paul
Welcome from the Midlands ,you are on the best forum by far ,looks like a dry weekend get out and enjoy!

Hey buddy,

All the UK fellas are saying about it being nice weather so yeah, I reckon I'll get out on it. This has been a while coming....I looked at the R3 at the same time as the Speed Triple but ended up with the latter. It was a great bike but I thought it was just a bit too stubby for me. Sooooo...finally took the plunge. Really looking forward to it. I didn't test ride one as I just went on reviews and recommends so it'll be my first go tomorrow....eek

Some great guidance on this forum too. Yeah, heard about pledge and Mr Sheen....I'll give that a go.

Cheers,

Paul

Hi Paul,Hello and welcome mate from another Brit from the south of the country.Hope you get the chance to get out on your new rocket, looks like tomorrow is going to be the best day down here,it looks like rain today..

Morning!

Beautiful day! Just been out on it and done around 20 miles. Not sure if it's me or not but I seem to have an intermittent issue in 1st gear. Basically, I stopped at junctions etc and stuck it in 1st to pull away. Even though it felt like it was in gear, just after pulling away the bike seemed to lurch slightly and re-engage in gear if that makes sense. It did this about 4 or 5 times in 20 miles and generally when hot. I've not had a shaft driven bike so it felt quite different - with a chain, I always felt a confirmatory clunk when sticking into 1st but there's absolutely nothing with shaft. It's going back to the dealer next week but just wanted some alternative opinions before I go along if poss.

Cheers,

Paul

...also is it me, or has the tank pad been stuck on too high?

Noooooo!!! Just taken the bike back to the dealer and they've kept it as it apparently shouldn't be ridden now. The tech who took it out said there was definitely a serious issue there and he'd never seen the likes of the problem before. Let's see....

Welcome Paul from another Brit - a Pom living in Australia.
