04 rocket 3 trippleK N s (4040) exposed, remapped,deresticted. straight out multiple exhaust
To all who , are willing to share some insites. I have 04 rocket, simple set up pipes (one off home made,) with original headers and no cat straight into 3 individual pipes up swept on same side , 1 1/4 inch straight outs with simple bolt in baffles. K. N. high flow intake in the standard under seat box. no tuneing mods runs well. 124 h.p. at rear wheel on the dyno.H ave 30,000 on the clock and want to get some more without cracking cases. have been reading here for a while , want some advice .
riding daily , dont want to jepordize reliability. Or dramatically reduce rebuild intervals. already does 220 with ease, and with baffling in exhaust managed to eliminate decel burble, almost entirely. want to release some more oommph.Suggestions Thanks

G'day subtle, an welcome to the site from Brisbane Australia.
Where u from?
If you in OZ you should talk with Neville lush in victor harbour SA.
Replace your pipes with the same pipes as Ponters (search "Ponters headers") and change your filter to triples under bearclaw ten get nev to tune it, should get arround 160hp and be very streetable.

Welcome from Canberra. A lot of people talk about not wanting to do too many mods so as not to mess up reliability or rideability but to be honest, I can't really recall anyone actually turning their Rocket into a dog. Maybe if you were running super hi compression and spinning it out to 10,000 rpm it would be a different story and things can break but these things seem to be able to cope with almost anything within reason.

Let us know where you're from and what you want to do. Would love to see some pics of that exhaust too.

thanks

Im in country Victoria, an get down to Melb regularily. Glad to hear, theres a fair bit of info available , from people with hands on experience. This is by far the most technical beast Ive played with. Spend the last 30 odd years on old twins , Pans shovels and evos .
I ran a 3 into 1 system on this R3 for while, but the individual pipes seem more pleasing to my ears, from where Im coming from. Am needing info I guess in regards to a package, that I can tune with my own existing pipes. I would be happy with slightly less H.P. but the styling Im used to. Have heard of the tune boy for the ignition maping and the P.C. V for the fuel mapping. I was thinking of this set up with tripple K.N. That protude thru the bear claw. does anyone have the mapping available for the tune boy and pcv . also do I need the auto tuner to compensate as my set will be not be off the shelf pipes. That being said can some one recomend supplier at a good price.
Thanks.

Here I am!!!! sorry been on the phone to Jim (Motolink) just now helping him set up his PCV + AT Stuble PM me your phone# it is easier to explain on the phone but because of your non run of the mill exhaust set up I think the PCV +AT will be the best bet and as Mitzy already said Triple K&N's secondaroes removed a decent base map for TuneECU (like TuneBoy but free) and I would be surprised if you dont start looking at 140 to 150 HP and a smooth running beast, if you want more you will need to take it to Neville Lush in Victor Harbor, in SA and get the Reband exhaust (around the corner from Neville Lush) as Ponters has. I am more than Happy to help with the TuneEC tune and PCV + AT in the meantime

Thanks all

will P.M. you Hanso , to the others that welcomed me and helped I appreciate your time and sentiments.Hope to be able to return in kind. if anyone is down my way Bendigo look me up,
