GI Pro Gear Indicator

After reading Hellfires list of mod's he has done to his Rocket and his impressive numbers he was able to achieve. He mentioned a GI Pro gear indicator. I wasn't aware that it also elimanated the timing retard in the 1st thru 3rd gears.
Can anyone tell me if it removes the speed limiter in 5th gear also?

I like Hellfire, do not have access to someone that is able to do a good job with a Tunboy so I am also looking at a PCIII and a GI Pro.

So if I installed a PCIII and a GI Pro to go along with my Jardines, I wonder how much HP and torque I could gain over my now stock bike?

Also do I have to remove the butterflies in order to get to these numbers?

Don't know if you'd get any more HP.
but if you remove your secondaries the torque will be noticable.

I e-mailed GI Pro about what their unit does for the Rocket. They sent me an installation guide that was not specific to the Rocket. Without more info from the manufacturer on how this thing works with Keihin ECUs, I'd be wary of messing with this.

Wayne at Tuneboy has created tunes for triple filter intakes which change the ignition timing. He said that for the TOR's with standard intake, changing the timing didn't improve performance.

I finally got hold of Hellfire and he told me he thought that the GI Pro was the single BIGGEST improvement that he had installed on his bike. And it DOES remove the speed limiter. He said he had had his bike at 150 mph with the big windshield, bags and sitting up right on the bike. I have ordered one and when it comes in and I get it installed I will post my results.

I am very interested in the GIPRO but not very technicial at all. Any information you have on the installation would be great. I want to see if it is something I could do.

Scow, the hardest part about the install is getting the little pins out of the gear position switch harness plug so the GiPro can be pugged inline. Everything else is cake, just running the harness and deciding where to put the display is all personal preference. It's got a cool "self learn" function that runs you through calibrating the gear with the indication, but mine worked right out of the box. It practically "walks" you through set up.
I mounted the display between the guages so you can't even see it unless you are sitting on the bike, then it can't be missed.
If you remove the plastic cover over the guage screws and use the velcro strip it comes with, it fits between the guages like it was made just for the R3.
I love the thing, I'm probably its biggest cheerleader. It's worth the price alone just to stop trying to shift into 6th all the time, having 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear come alive is a bonus. Eliminating the speed limiter was just another little benefit too.
