Getting More Ground clearance

Well since fitting the sidecar I have had to be a little more cautious on uneven ground. Especially potholes as rapid breaking prior to obstacle would cause the beast to dive and reducing ground clearance even more. The fitted bash plate has a few decent gouges in it.
The outfit has a total of 5 shocks so buying that many longer was an expensive option.
So a mate machined me up 5 extenders to suit and a new leading link pivot plate. Bit weird at first sitting higher and a few adjustments to get the outfit back to normal handling (a contentious statement for outfits).
Maybe put on off road tires and go bush

When the chair is lofted in a left hand corner it gets quite a LEAN ON.
To get lean in the right handers requires a level of stupidity I try not to achieve. Burying the nose in the ground or lifting the rear wheel of the ground causes sphincter contractions of high magnitude.
Also the car tire is speed rated equivalent to the original.
With the torque of this beast I haven't noticed much impact on its speed but fuel consumption is another issue all together.
Rear tire wear on outfits is much more severe than when solo.
 

If I had to ride it .... I would be in the ditch in the first turn...

I agree but if you survive it than back up and try again with 10 % less throttle and accelerate through the corner.
I have been riding outfits since 1988 and have learnt that it is better to accelerate through corners (left or right) Do not brake or back off in left handers ( Probably the opposite for all you with the chair on the wrong side).
The best thing about a chair on the rocket is there is always enough torque to keep accelerating.
