I am having issues with getting the correct Gear Position Sensor for my 2014 R3T. I have a lower engine number so I need the "upgrade" kit.
First they sent me the spares kit p/n T1296589 which did not include a sensor. Then at no charge they sent me a sensor p/n T1190814. My issue is that the sensor plug doesn't fit any of the wiring harness plugs.
Is one or both parts incorrect?

the picture on the right is like for an 07 will not fit yours.
the pic on left i think is for adapting the three wire gps to the 4 wire which u probably have on your bike
i will summon the expert @Ishrub
Yours being a 2014 I'm surprised the GPS needs replacement, also suspect your bike already has a 4 pin connector in the main harness.
Have you got a photo of your old one, showing both the face of the sensor and the plug top?
Also your engine number, out of curiosity (bike might be built before March '13 and just registered later)

Thanks for the help. Here are some pics. The engine number is 3607115. I do have the service bulletin and am fairly sure I need the upgraded kit. The new sensor fits but no corresponding plug on the harness.

T1190814, the GPS they gave you, is for 04-09 Rocket III, Rocket III Classic, Rocket III Classic Tourer.
You need give that one back and ask for T1292057.
Then, the spares kit you have T1296589 will connect that new 4 wire GPS T1292057 to your 3 pin plug on the main harness.

The original T1190814 (I assume the 6th position is neutral).
This came out before the new 1600/1700 Thundebirds were released and likely matches the wiring loom with the early 2 tone instruments and slightly different connector plugs.
Probably updated mid 2006 to T1290641 for later pre-ABS versions including the Classics.
This was replaced by T1296589 which is used by all later versions of both Rocket III and Thunderbirds .
Possibly with introduction on ABS wiring looms on both models.
