You should consider replacing the stock shift setup with a lever mounted directly to the shaft.
I tried 4 different shift levers before finding the best fit for me. It eliminates the sloppy linkage's vagueness and reduces missed shifts.
this may seem odd
i use shell casings to make a lot of bushings
they r tapered so u shove them in to the outer section then cut them hoping they will fit inside shaft,
also have made rubber grommets from vacuum hose gas hose ect.
i don't have the rocket with me today so have no idea what caliber
ps a 45 worked well for the mirror to tighten it up.
