Gear Lever Adjustment

Ok, finally got myself some descent riding boots - yeah for me but now I really don't have room to fit my toe under the gear shift lever. Is the adjustment to allow more room an easy thing to do on my 2007? What about the possibility of finding a heel and toe shifter? Thanking you in advance for all the help.

It’s not terribly hard, two nuts, one bolt (lol), and you can adjust the linkage in all kinds of ways.

Where did you buy the boots "Hot Topic" must be some pretty high toe boots not to fit under the gear shift.

Yeah, I thought they would fit as well. I am thinking the fit issue is that the boot kind of curls up a little hence the boot won't slide forward on the floorboard under the shifter. I can put the boot under the shifter if I slide from the outside (ok, did that make any sense at all?). I was looking at the linkage attached to the shifter, so just adjust that and I am go to go?

I had a pair of riding boots with the same issue, HD harness boots with steel toes.

When adjusting mine I disconnected just left the bolt out and tried it one tooth at a time sitting still until it felt right. On your bike you’ll have a wider range of adjustment before the linkage and the shift arm interfere, Roadsters have a fairly small adjustment range.

And is the cause in some cases, footwear has to fit the bike, I have never found a pair of motorcycle boots that I like I use the good old diehards

i always wear sneaker/trainers on mine,its easyer to push when it breaks down.

I know this has been asked a million times and it is off topic to this thread, but what about a heel toe shifter, then I have no issues with boot fitting under the gear lever, the trick is I can't seem to find one for my Classic

Ya alot of fellers cut the rear heal portion off. The touring heal/tow set up will fit our bikes also including the floor boards and rails.
