I guess I misspoke, the Garmin doesn't plug into the OBD plug. There is a Garmin accessory that plugs into the OBD plug ( Garmin Mechanic with ecoRoute™ HD | Garmin ) and then connects via Bluetooth to my GPS. I use an older Garmin built for cars but it works with quite a few of the Garmin units. I believe it will also work with your smart phone and using the Garmin mechanis app.bob
