The Rocket is no chain/sprocket driven bike where it's pretty easy to swap a sprocket to change your gear ratios.
There is no aftermarket transmission for the Rocket. Any gear change would require an engine tear down to get into the transmission. The cost of labor alone would be at least $1000 USD.
Looking for that 6th gear? Good luck again. You'll have to replace all the gears in the transmission box as well as shift drum and levers.
Take a look at my transmission as it was around 16000 miles.
Everything you see in both halves of the transmission would have to be replaced if you wanted a 6 speed tranny. Replacing one gear would be easier but you're still looking at a lot of labor and downtime.
So you're stuck with the existing tranny unless you want to spend a lot of money.
As I see it, there are 4 places where this can be done:-
At the input to the gearbox
At the output of the gearbox
At the final drive
By changing the wheel diameter
All involve a fair bit of ironmongery. Personally, I reckon the rear wheel/tyre could be an easier option than making new gear sets and altering gearcase clearances and oil feeds.
But you have to find a bigger motrorcycle tyre first, unless you go to the darkside...
