Will undoubtedly be helpful to people with failed speedos out there.
Also worth mentioning, when I brought the bike to the dealer to diagnose, they said I needed both a tach and a speedo. They were each about 500-600 bucks. I told them to only order the speedo. As it turned out the replaced speedo fixed the problem. This was about 7 years ago.
Also, if you replace the speedo on a R3 (don't know about the new models), the new unit cannot be programmed with the existing mileage, so for registration purposes keep a record of your mileage at the time of the swap.
