Fuse Block Installed

strange.... as you can see on the picture the two threaded nuts holding the cover are near each end laterally

What's worse is that I didn't read the line in your post that said "with cover removed". Must pay better attention. I'm going to replace that old EB dinosaur on my DL650 with a new one.

I've had two, the first was on my DL100 and was Blue Sea, which is for marine applications. It had a cover which kept out dust and water. I liked it because the connectors were easy to attache. I believe this is the one or similar. It was quite a few years ago so this is probably the upgraded one:

The one I have now is on my VStrom DL650, is an Eastern Beaver with very tiny connection posts, which I don't like it at all. Your EB looks almost like the Blue Sea (available at West Marine). Does it have the cover?

@Navigator Hey Mike, I haven't had the time to check in often lately. If your question was directed at my set up, then yes, it is a Blue Sea Systems 100 amp 4 circuit block which I did in fact acquire from West Marine. I think that it was about 29 bux or so. The 'post' fuse is available from any auto parts store. The reason I went that route was the instructions with the FB recommended the block be fused from the battery. The 80 amp post fuse took care of that and supplied a pretty good mounting option. Plenty of room under the seat for clearance and when it is time to change the battery you can just remove the positive terminal from the battery and fold the block and all of the wiring out of the way to the left.
