After having replaced the rear shocks with the 440 Progressives I thought I might as well do the front, I have ordered the progressive springs, question is can I replace the springs on the bike without dismantling the front end, also do I need any special tooling to do so? If it is all too hard I will dismantle the front end and take the forks to the dealer.

What is the best way to go?

I got MPE in Beerwah nr Kilkoy to do mine.. suspension specialists. I believe you need a tool to do it, there was one mentioned on the forum mebbe 6 months ago?
Any dealer should be able to tho?

I purchased all of the tools to share with members of the site but some WANKER refuses to answer my repeated requests for their current location in the world.

My purchase is apparently my loss... I don't really care who has them, I just want to know where they are so that when the time comes that I need them again, I know where to get them and to make sure they are being passed along to the next person that was on the list of those that wanted to borrow them. I paid pretty close to $200 for all those tools and I know who said they had them last so I'll be hitting them up soon for the tracking number of where they sent them next.

As for removing the front end, no, you don't have to, you can change things out while everything is attached to the bike, just need to support the front end when doing it. You may want to get a pump to suck the old oil out and replace with same viscosity (0W I think is stock) or up it a bit, I went to a 5W along with the Progs. I like it.

Mate if they are over this side of the pond let me know and we will round them up for you, and hey Marcus top job on the new web site............that man deserv's a beer. :)

..if ya don't have the 'special' tools, and I'm sure you don't, save yourself the time, trouble, and aggravation of trying to do it without them like I did, and take the forks off and take them to the dealer..I think the factory oil is 5 weight..go ahead and replace it with 10..I wish I would have but didn't, but intend to suck out all that I can get and replace that with 10..
