Living Legend
Got the forks in right, Now the tubes are even with the top of the upper yoke. Factory setting was 1000 thousands off on one side and about 1250 thousands off on the other side. Went ahead with adjusting the steering bearings again just for ****s and giggles. Glad I did. Wobble disappeared. Imagine that. Got the new tire mounted yesterday and today we installed it on the bike. Dunlop Elite three up front and Car tire in the back. New brake shoes added today along with a nice hole in my wrist. Dummied up big time. Tried to pry brake shoes apart with a big screwdriver with brake reservoir cap still attached. Yea the screwdriver slipped and took a chunk out of my wrist. Luckey did not hit a vein or else I would be at the Indian clinic looking like a fool. In the morning it will be bath time for the beast and then a test ride before work. Got a feeling it will be a lot smoother ride. Next adventure will be valve check, fuel filter replacement, and spark plugs along with a oil change. Plan on replacing shocks and springs in about a month to Wilbers. Figure that should make room for the new exhaust and Ramair. Kind of hoping I get all this done before this year's R.A.A. I can say that after 24,000 miles the bike is looking and running good. If I had the option I prefer working on the Rocket X over the Harley but the Harley can wait. Life has its priorities.
