Agree
I do agree with you, but when a scooter costs about 1-2k sterling (one of my mountain bikes cost a fair bit more than that!), and costs a quarter of the rocket 3 to run, from my perspective its a no brainer as a commuting proposition.
That takes nothing away from your point, I do agree - we live for cracking open the throttle a bit and an open road.
Dont really find that in the whole of the South East of England for very long sadly - its just too rammed full of people. Including the 5 odd million or so immigrants over the last administration - all with various standards of driving (not necessarily our standards!!).
We are approaching a population the size of Russia, in a country less than a tenth the size. We have more than the population of France in a country half the size. I could go on, but things have changed here, and not for the good - every road journey I have taken outside London has resulted in a traffic jam of late, and I wished I had a bike (or maxi scooter) with luggage and cruise control to take care of that!
