Its always a worry being stranded ,I carry A good 12v compressor,tubless repair kit, compressed C/02 capsules ,a ratchet strap and a small set of tyre irons plus a mobile phone current NRMA card all fits in the Panniers of the touring,but once I had a valve stem split and had to call the NRMA(our national road service Association) I now carry a spare valve stem that I could install at any workshop,
"being prepared",a lot to be said for tubed tyres ,you could repair them on the side of the road but the disadvantages out way the few good parts.
