Last Saturday I traded my 08 Goldwing for a lll touring model. This bike is the most interesting bike I have ever ridden. The low end grunt is unbelievable. I have nick named it "the tractor". It has the same torque and exhaust note as the David Brown I drove as a kid. There's nothing like it. The bikes center of gravity makes it easier to handle than the GW. It's smooth, comfortable and great looking. My wife even likes the back seat better. I gone from ugly to cool and only gave up the radio. If I can get used to the engine heat on my right leg, everything will be alright.

In the last five years I have owned a Fat Boy, Road King, ST1300, Multistrada 1000S, GS1300, FJR1300, Goldwing and now the R3. If the quality is there, I am going to hang on to this one.

Welcome Nate. In one of the moto mags I just got there is a comparision between the R3T and the Gold Wing among others. Seems like there fav was the wing.

Hell I'd miss the Cappuccino machine:D:D
Welcome to the site Nate, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I don't think I'm going to miss the intercom... don't care about reverse. I know for sure that I won't miss the GW wobble. My bike was a brand new 08 with everything except the air bag. The bike would shimmy back and forth from 35 to 50 mph. The dealer installed two new front tires and one rear tire in an attempt to get rid of it. Frustrated I called Honda. Their answer, "it's a normal operating condition". I said "hold on, a $22K bike and it's OK for it to shake from 35 to 50?" "yes sir, it's normal". I have several friends with Wings. They all shake.

I'm happy to be on a bike that doesn't.

Glad You're Here

Welcome and be advised that most of the wobble and shakes don't come from the R3..... but more than likely are caused by some of us old geezers just walking to and from the ride.

I hope you enjoy it half as much as all of us do and join us in ES in September.
