Re my post above "The stock front size rated at 71 (761lb)". I just checked and the Avon Cobra AV71 150/80-17R is supposedly actually a 72H rated tire so 72 (355kg 783lb) rated at 41psi. That is a pretty big 13.5% drop from 783lb to the Michelin Scorcher II 140/75R17 67 (307kg 677lb) of the 140/75R 67V.
Compare that to the Michelin Commander II 140/80-17 Bias ply.
The Avon Cobra AV71 150/80-17R 72H rated so 72 (355kg 783lb) rated at 41psi. That is a much less 8.6% drop from 783lb to the Michelin Commander II 140/80-17 Bias ply 69 (325kg 716lb)
Your right the Michelin Commader II is available in both radial and Bias Ply.
As a Rear tire in Radial in the same size as your Scorcher, so people must be reversing them for front use.
Just bought an EMAX and the Scorcher 11s. My only question is on all these sites they claim this tire does not "fit" the R3R. The load rating is Load Rating: 67 - Maximum Capacity 677 lbs (got this off Michelin Scorcher 11 140/75R17 Front Tire | 213-084) Maybe this is my ignorance, but how is this compatible with the R3R as it is heavier than the load rating on this tire?
I run the Michelin commander II's on the Harley . Both front and back are radials. Very good tires. If they made Commander II's for the Rocket I would have bought them. As is the combo I have now on the Rocket is just as good as the set up on the Harley. Very pleased with the way it rides and handles. Time will tell if any problems arise from the tire set up. I will be the first one to post any problems which might occur.
