Supercharged
I took my new R3T out on Superbowl Sunday for a nice long ride with my club. We managed about 280 miles before getting everyone home to catch the game.
I rode a good variety of roads (highway, back roads, twisties) and the bike was terrific. For such a large bike, she handles very well. Curves and turns are very easy. Just lean and go. Very natural. Not once did I have to force the bike into a turn. She just set in and glided on through.
On the faster roads and highways, she's steady as a rock. Very little vibration at speed. Even at 90mph, very solid. The short windscreen does get most of the wind. I would expect a good bit of buffeting at those speeds.
Very smooth ride. The suspension is tight and handles bumps worlds different from my old VTX. I used to dread riding rough areas on the VTX. I'd get slapped around a lot. The R3T handled it like a bike should. Solid.
After the day's ride, I knew I'd have to do something about the reach of the bars.
So I've ordered the Long Haul Dual seat with an adjustable backrest. I also ordered the auxiliary light kit and the front dresser bars.
I hear Rivco are coming out next month with risers for the R3T. I may go ahead and order those as well.
