They told me I needed a motorcycle endorsement to ride a Rocket and I replied that I did not need one to buy it so don't worry about an inspection. Daniel Boone didn't need a hunting license. Just don't slow down enough to a point where "they" can read it. Glad you're back out again.

Well.. in the end.. not alot.. lol It's been so long, I don't know if I included everything, but here's the jist of it. It started out as a problem surging at cruise speeds and not idling right. So I replaced the fuel filter and air filter... didn't help... and checked for vacuum leaks... couldn't find any.. So I ordered a cable to use with TuneECU, which took a couple of weeks.

Then I used TuneECU to adjust the primary TPS. No help. So, I disconnected my Power Commander to eliminate it and loaded a Jardine compatible tune.. The tune did work, but still had the surging issue.. so I tried another tune.. then m y bike really ran like crap and I couldn't get it back no matter what and the TPS was no longer responding. So I ordered one of the newer Primary TPSs from BikeBandit. My dealer recommended I order from BikeBandit instead of through them because I might get it faster. Tack on another month of waiting for the new TPS.

I was excited to when the new TPS finally arrived, so I installed it.. used TuneECU to set it correctly. This TPS did respond, but I could not get the bike to run very good at all no matter what tune I tried.

So I load it for it's first trailer ride to my local dealer. They keep it for a couple of weeks, and call me to tell me it's ready. I will say that it did idle.. but otherwise ran like crap. They said it was the best they could do. So I paid their sorry asses and road it home. I should have trailered it.

I then started looking it over again.. and I noticed 3 of the spark plug wires were cracked all the way through. Thinking this MUST be it, I ordered new plug wires, and new plugs from Bike Bandit.... Wait another month+.. I was really thinking these plug wires were it.. So got them in, gapped all the new plugs correctly, got everything together.. and still runs like CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm PO'ed now.. already spent several $100 bucks and nothing!!! So I still look it over.. keep looking.. and finally decide to haul it to the Austin dealer. It's worth nothing like it was running.. So I tell the tech the story of what's been done to it.. So he goes to basically guessing like me.. he replaces the fuel filter again.. puts in a new battery.. still nothing.. Then he gets to the throttle bodies. My local dealer must have had them off! All of the clamps connecting the throttle bodies to the head were loose! The throttle cable was way out of adjustment.. ( I never checked for vacuum leaks again after it came back from my local dealer ). So he tightened everything up... synched the throttle bodies, adjusted the throttle cable.. and loaded the TORs tune (which is what my PC-III tune is based off of..) and low and behold.. The beast runs as awesome as ever...

The Austin tech was a young kid and had rode some stock Rockets, but never one with Jardines and a dyno tuned PC-III.. He was all excited about how much power it had on his 10 mile test ride!... lol He needs to ride one of y'all's.. lol

You probably told us, but what was wrong with your Rocket?

Good to see Her Back on the Road now go and get some Tar Under Her Wheels, thats a similar paint job that I eventually would like except I'll have a Claret Red back ground
