Faulty Gas gauge?
I too trusted a gauge... ONCE... and ended up calling my bride for a gas can (on my Thunderbird). Since then I only go with the trip meter. Due to my tune and heavy hand, I get about 26 MPG mixed riding (city/highway). I think my V-Rod is getting about the same (1250cc's all stock); so I'm good with that. My last 'good gas mileage' bike was a Honda 750... I'm perfectly fine with trading a little gas for performance and enjoyment as it's my 'Road Therapy'...

Hey,

Honda 750, 1971, my first new bike.....put 35,000 miles on her, wonderful bike.......wish I could have kept her but have traveled all over the USA and the world and pretty tough to hang onto stuff. As for the trip meter that is where I have ended up, do not see the sense in crap shooting with the various fuel level gizmos on the market.

PS Someday I might fool with the gauge float, etc., in the tank if and when I work up the nerve to remove the tank and install a new fuel filter. Napa sells the same filter for 6 bucks versus the $55.00 Triumph filter, info thanks to a prior poster in this thread.
