Factory Fitted Datatool Alarm/imobiliser -Fault. Any suggestions?

Hi All,

Took the rocket (2005 Classic) for an annual MOT today. Gave it a quick wash over with soapy water, by hand before i went.
Got there fine, no issues. On the short ride home, the alarm started chirping, before going off whilst i was riding.

I stopped and turned the bike off. Now it goes through the startup, but wont start. Anyone got any suggestions as to what might be at fault, and how i might fix it, without the option of removing the whole system.

Thoughts and advice would be appreciated.

I had that alarm chirp thing whilst riding a few years back. It was torrential rain at the time, but my bike kept going, and the chirping stopped once the bike had dried out properly.

Then, years later, my bike suddenly failed to start at all when I was 250 miles from home, and I had to be relayed back on a breakdown truck.

The fault was traced to the alarm system, which I then had removed completely.

Maybe your bike will be OK once it has properly dried out?

If not, you may just have to strip out that alarm system.

I hope it is something simpler, but the above has been my experience.

Take it off and throw it at a passing dog.............
