I have a brand new 2 brother exhaust in stainless for a m8 Harley. I also have a verex exhaust for my Rocket 3 on the way. Been toying with the idea of moding them so the Harley muffler will fit. Which basically means cutting the ends off both and having someone weld the verex end to the 2 Brothers muffler. I really like the look better. Just not sure, would hate to ruin 2 systems.
Took a pic just to get a idea, what do you all think?

Looks a whole lot like the D&D exhaust that Harley owners have coveted for many years. I always liked the upswept look ! It looks "classy" without be weird !

The only way to find out if it will work is to invest in a dyno run and see what the performance gain will be using a muffler that was not designed for a 2500 cc engine ! Like someone said before , "Hobbies are as expensive as you will make them!" It looks good and probably will sound good------but will it go faster ?

Personally....And just my humble opinion....I think the Harley muffler has potential...i would like to see it a tad shorter maybe?..with the black end running parallel to the ground, so the muffler would need to be more upswept...not so as too compromise the panniers should you fit them...dont like the Verex.
Considering the existing exhaust system is actually enclosed in the cat box with the 'mufflers' only there for asthetic reasons, there possibly would need to be a tune or at least have the bike on the dyno to see how the A/F responds as it would be basically a straight thru system.
I'de like to see a photo of the Harley can pushed in a bit further and lifted at the end a bit more.
Thanx for posting...could get interesting...cheers.

Not sure a tune would be needed, but would no doubt help.
Most of the other systems out there for our bikes are a straight through design and say no tune required.

I believe that muffler companies are out there to sell mufflers and requiring a tune would pretty much put the muffler price out of reach. Most bikes will run OK ( not necessarily better) if you swap for a more open exhaust. Then --- when you throw in an open intake , you are really tempting fate without a tune to ensure that all is well inside those cylinders ! JMHO but I'd rather be safe than sorry when it comes to tunes as I have seen many errors in judgement occur during an effort to preserve money.
