I did a search yesterday and didnt find to many post of what I was looking for. Was wondering what the O.D. of the pipe coming off the factory header and if many people had any luck with putting slip-on mufflers on thier Rocket 3 standards. I am looking to trying to put a Supertrapp or a Kereker Megaphone on the factory header. Would like to see pics or expercieces with any one that has tried this.

The factory collector pipe is 2" max diameter (external wall to wall including gasket). There have been a few folks who have put on a single sided muffler onto the factory pipe, but have you considered designed systems that do this, like D&D pipes for example?

Yes I have looked at the D&D pipes they are just down the road from me here in Texas, but I also like the looks of the single pipe. Just trying to weigh my options on which way to go.

Well,
I welded a harley drag pipe onto the stock header.
Well, not me exactly,
I had a friend do the actual welding.
But the bottom line is, it's LOUD.
Louder than a harley with two open header pipes.
Has a unique sound.
It sounds good going down the road according to everybody whose heard it.
It did loose alot of torque, noticeable loss of torque.
Got that back by ordering a 2" QQ baffle from Big City Thunder.
Simply wrapped the cone part with Fiberglas matting
wrapped with a small stainless steel wire.
Got all my torque back and added bonus of killer sound....
A trick I learned after three baffles if you go this route,
drill all the way through the baffle and pipe for a bolt and double nut it....
Let me see if I can find a picture or two so you can see what it looks like.
