It’ll all relative to how you ride, keep in mind Steve and I both want pipes that don’t drag since we like cornering “spirited” . That calls for a muffler that’s high n tight.
The first thing to touch down should be the peg feelers not the muffler.
Rob,
Agreed, but tis the second & the third parts dragging that concern me most.
In the spirit of full disclosure, I did have to re cut & weld the pipe between the header and can of my CES in order to tuck it in closer to the rear axle for more clearance.
I took mine on the Tail of the Dragon in Tennessee a few months ago. I dragged the pegs a lot, but not the stock pipes! I must not be crazy enough! haha
I've built my header and complete 3 into 1 system be in as tight as possible.
My riding style dictates that nothing must hang up when cornering, If anything does, I will find it.
@caddydaddy
My CES can now sits at & within an eighth inch of the rear axle.
I hope you can see the difference here
Apologies. Rear wheel is off for new tire & to re-wire the rear light assemblies for somwe additional new stuff for hopefully more rear end light & safety
My TORs would touch down occasionally, mostly from the lousy shock wallow prior to my Progressive 444s.
Where the motor mount, peg rail/bolt & engine case scraped, 2nd, 3rd & 4th can also be seen.
