Thank you. I believe what I will do is make the 3/8 spacer adjustment if necessary.
Out of curiosity, is this heat issue something that you run into with your system? People seem to think I'm trolling them, or just complaining. I'm actually looking for some useful info. I had the cooling system flushed last year, but I'm going to do it again, and make sure it's properly bled. I should have the PC V & Autotune next week.... if that doesn't fix it, I'll have to take it to the dealer and see what they think.
 
I flushed the coolant system, and the cap looks like it needs to be replaced, the rubber was cracking. Also, I loosened the bleeder nut by the thermostat, and then eventually removed it completely, but the coolant didn't weep out as described in the manual. So, I started it and let it run for a few minutes, and the coolant started backing up into the overflow reservoir. So it looks like the thermostat is not working correctly. I am going to take into the dealer, and see if any other damage was done.

This was a process that I was trying to work through, and get some help from the forum. Thank you to the people that helped. Hopefully, someone down the line will be able to look at this, and figure out where to start, and what not to do. I should have started with the cooling system, and not with the tune.

For sure. I figured the engine temp light would go on, and I've been watching it very closely, so I'm sure something is screwy there as well.
 
Not all bleed screws work Dave my 06 has one but the casting plug must have shifted. So I have a hole going into nothing with a bolt in it. My 07 has it also but the casting was better so it works.

So talking with the tech today, the only thing that he can think of that I haven't addressed was the coolant temp sensor.... which I've ordered and will replace. Hopefully, that will be the end of it.
Has anyone replaced one of these? In the manual, it only gives the "general area". I'm thinking it is very close to thermostat.
 

The coolant temperature sensor is between 4 and 5 O'clock next to the the thermostat housing. You will need to modify a socket to take it out. Needs a groove cut in it to clear the harness wires. You will have to lift the throttle bodies up and tie them to the handle bar. (QUICKER THEN PULLING THEM) And you will be removing the oil tank so you have to pull the long oil plug out of the bottom to drain the tank. Unless your tank leaks down then let it . Also drain coolant so the head is empty.
