Nice work, Sunny. My understanding is that Richard isn't currently focussing too much time on headers, but that doesn't mean that he won't do. ....He's a busy man. My understanding is that Paul Bryant is developing some big bore headers and matching tail end......Anyone wanting bigger headers...
Ball-Parking the header length will only waste time and material.
You also have to understand the interaction of EGT, A/F Mixture Profiles in the Tune, and Cam Overlap/ Profiles to correctly match the Exhaust for optimum engine performance.

what about slipon length not header length, there is a connection I put between slipon and header with a exhaust clamp, so I am curious about pipe /slipon I put *after* the exhaust clamp in photo below.
thanks for replying
hey Kevin, how about cutting it to near the edge of rear wheel towards front, marked below in photo
so the area in red will be cut and removed
what do you say?
It just depends what you want, go with the look you like and get it tuned and youll be happy, the difference in performance is hard to tell by seat. I ran a short muffler at ecta last year and the motor would have done better with the long pipe , my tuner likes a long pipe on it but tuned it with the short pipe, the long pipe does better wide open. Again i would just go with the look you like and get it tuned. I like that long pipe look, looks like a 460 bike.
Its like on harleys, the d and d long pipe smokes the competition time after time, they use to make one for the touring and it was long and did well when tuning. Tuners hate funky jacked up pipes people want for looks, they want a pipe that works correctly with engine pulse and getting that cylinder empty when called on to do so. A long pipe helps do that.
