Exhaust and Download

Im thinking of getting the accessory exhaust for my 2011 RR. Any of you techs out there see a problem with putting them on and then riding about 40 miles to the dealer for the download/flash...??

If you're just doing pipes you should be fine. Don't hammer it.

Absolutely none other than you could get a $20 cable and install your own tune and it would make more power than the dealer tune plus you would be able to run diagnostics too.

You have a motorcycle now with a fair amount of electronics on it now. Maybe time to expand your skill set ? You can download "Tuneecu" for free, then all you need is the aforementioned $20.00 cable. There are tunes available for many different set-ups. Do a search for Tuneecu on here. There is a sticky down the page a ways called "Tuneecu--How to" by power-tripp. It's not that hard. Plus it has excellent diagnostic tools. It's something you can do yourself rather than pay through the nose for the dealer to do it when they get around to it.

You sound just like me. I did it and it works AWESOME. I had lots of help from the guys here, especially HansO. You should really look into and consider it.
AND I found the cable for $10. Hey! it's enough savings for a six pack - a cheap domestic six pack perhaps.

Just so you don't feel you have to, I don't mess with this stuff myself (nor do plenty of others) and I love the way my bike runs. However, if you do decide to give it a whirl, this is the place to get all the guidance you need.

I can tell you this....I am as dumb as a rock when it comes to computers..

I added Jardine exhaust system and Mr. Flips K&N filter kit to my 2005 Rocket last fall.

With the help of a few members...which I will not name names.....But they know who there are.

I used my wifes old lap top and that $20 cable.......plus a telephone..

We unleashed the monster that was inside of my rocket.......Well maybe not a monster but it sure put a big grin on my face....each time I get a hand full of throttle

Yes it is scarry to do this type of thing with the computer....but these guys can get you through it with no problem...and you can take that to the bank...
