Ethanol gas sucks

You can get an ethanol free gas at the airports. It is called Mo-Gas. About 93 octane pure gas. Take a gas can or 2 with you. Don't tell them you are putting it in a street machine.

First, tell teens that smoking corn gets you high and it will put a drain on the ethanol supply. Big agriculture and politicians shove this down our throats. I know every REAL gas depot between here and Kentucky. Marathon sells 90 non ethanol gas here with a sticker on the pump that says "recreational use only" and the bike qualifies. ANOTHER TRAVESTY at least in my book is that engine blow by vapors on autos laden with oil get run back through the intakes and reburned via the pcv. Oil burning and getting run back through your intake and valves and the combustion chamber makes carbon and over time will kill an engine but it robs power and fuel mileage too. I have a 5.7 Hemi Ram and put an oil catch can in line to get most of this oil vapor out. Most modern vehicles use this approach to meet EPA pollution standards, more BS. Some folks say oil catch cans are junk science. I put mine on and ran a bottle of Red Line fuel system cleaner through to get the carbon out. Immediately felt power boost and saw my mileage increase. It took an hour and 3 beers to do this on my truck and the catch cans can be found on Amazon pretty cheap.

This would have been run through the engine. Plenty of You Tube videos on how too for lots of autos. Hemi's are know for blow by crankcase gasses. Ethanol uses a LOT of water to make it. There is no way that 100% of that water is distilled out. Water is in your fuel system. I think Lucas makes an Ethanol "treatment" for your fuel system but Im not sure what its supposed to do.

I make it a point to be running non ethanol gas through my bike the last tank going into the home base so that when I park the bike and don't get back on it for a while I know it's real gas all the way through the fuel system. This is all anecdotal evidence but I sleep better.

If your going to run a catch can be sure to do it right or you will set a CEL

Coming back from a trip to Stugis I was in Iowa filling up my 5 gallon RK tank. I wasn't more than a few miles down the highway when the engine started conking out. Lucky to make it off the highway i met a young kid in a souped up GTO he started to laugh and told me the gas station i stopped at was loaded with ethanol,he steered me to a BP station down the street. This is when the fun started trying to find a place to drain the tank. I pushed it behind the BP gas station that had a lot of junk cars found a piece of rubber hose that the gas station let me borrow and told my friend Mike if he sucked out the gas to get a siphon going I'd buy him a steak dinner. As it went poor Mike got a mouth full of gas. I know that sounds mean on my part but ole Mike has had experience draining tanks when he screwed up in Wyoming and accidentally filled his tank with diesel. Pushed it around front to the pumps and filled the tank, fired it up and got on the highway. The bike ran fine ....
