hello,

I have a 2008 rocket 3 classic and just now doing things to it. I bought a used cat bypass off a damaged rocket that I will be installing. I was going to have a local muffler shop make a bypass but found this one at a great price!!! I also was going to take my baffles out of my stock pipes but this week I found a set of the off road factory loud pipes from a 2005 rocket real cheap the guy was tired of them sitting in his garage. so first I like to know how these will be and what would be a good tune for the bike. I have the tune downloaded on the computer and the cable needed. I want to save my factory tune so if I need to put back to factory I can. then put the new stuff on and do the tune if anyone can help or let me know I've never done the computer tunes before so I don't want to screw it up.

When you get the TOR's and cat bypass on, have the TuneECU cable and the TuneECU program, and get it talking to the bike, put the attached tune into the ECU. This tune was custom made by Wayne MacDonald who owns Tuneboy for the TOR/cat bypass exhaust. Make sure the O2 box is unchecked. My 2005 dynoed at 140 hp, 150 ft lbs with this tune. The stock tune for this setup (20226) is on the TuneECU site.

I have this set up but I am only running 1 of the 3 TOR pipes. I also have the Dobeck Performance AFR Plus. My recent trip to the dyno showed HP 159 and TQ 175. Getting 38 MPG to boot.

well the bypass and TOR are painted black i'll be baking them today on the bike then doing the map change. after that all work hopefully i'll be adding led and an accessory fuse block.

hey Idaho red rocket what is that your talking about because I have noticed some thing are different with new map that i'm not happy about.

I have tune ECU and got everything done I was told to use dyno 20050 tune and it runs good but there are some things i'm not happy about. maybe someone can help a recap 2008 classic bypass TOR muffler off a 2005 with dyno 20050 map. off the line it has more torque, HP, louder, major power at higher RPM. the bike used to pull wheel up off the line 1st threw 3rd with factory stuff did 90 in 1st gear before red line I got 31-33 MPG in town and 40 on highway not much different between 4th and 5th gear and at 80MPH it was 3k RPMS. now it is a little slow off the line with more torque it won't pull wheelies unless I play with the throttle and clutch. it wants to roast the rear tire 1st-4th gear now when I horse on it. more power or torque after 3k RPMS less gas mileage i'm getiing 29 flat in town fast or slow. at 3k RPMS it's only going 70MPH in 5th and if I take off I hit 90MPH off the line in 2nd gear at 2k RPMS. so is there a better tune to use I can get my MPG back and the quick speed back I like the torque but I don't need to burn the tire like it doing now even at 60 MPH it's keep you on your toes to have that tire break free !!!!!!

I was wondering about the tune questions I have if anyone can answer them. I see the speed % is at -6.5% when all the rest of the tune I've seen are still at 0.0% and the tune it runs good with major gains but has change enough i'm looking to get some thing back like the speed difference, the gas mileage, and not roast the tires off at any speed when I want to play and horse on the bike. I like the fact I could just pull wheelies taking off the line and not roast the tire off.
