ECU Map(s) - warranty / dealership

I just reinstalled the stock tune as the bike is going in tomorrow for a little warranty work and the TOR slip on install.

I rode it around the block and well the stock tune is GARBAGE!!
how is the Cruise control working for U? do U mind posting some pics?

I just picked my new 2014 last week. When the service manager and sales guy were going over the usual new bike stuff he mentioned (without being asked) to NOT having anyone do a custom mapping while under warranty. He simply said if anything goes wrong it will be an expensive fix that won't be covered under warranty. Has me wondering now whether to just buy the TORS and have them do the new tune and be satisfied with that until the warranty expires. For me, this bike already has way better performance than my VTX anyway. I understand it can be WAY better still, but I don't want to f' up the warranty.

@Erik Alkenbrack what other mods are you considering? If you just want the power opened you can do it with a GiPro ATR. That way you could leave your tune untouched until after the warranty expires.

I'm not really thinking about any performance mods at all at this point. I'm quite happy with it right now.

@Jag which dealer do you use?

The dealer I bought the bike from (cherry hill motor sports) went out of business, shortly after I purchased the bike.

Mt. Holly Kawasaki/Triumph fixed everything that the other dealer did wrong on the set up of the bike and the annual service. Pretty good guys, and I have no complaints..

Manayunk Triumph did my tune for the D&D slip on, ( than I installed trips/Hanson tune) and they seemed like they really new what they were doing, and they are nice guys. They also are a flagship dealer, and I will use them again if the need arises.

Don't get me wrong, Mt. Holly Kawasaki/Triumph does good work, but it's nice to go to a triumph only dealer for service.

For the most part I do my own maintance, but if I need work done that is out of comfort level, I will be going to Manayunk triumph.

Bought mine at Manayunk. They are great! Cherry hill had just opened when I was leaving. Glad to see they didn't last long (didn't care for the owners in their other businesses). Mt holly was always friendly enough, but never really had much interaction. They must be doing something right to stay in business out there that long. I was just curious, thanks!

Erik ,in that case you would be better off just leaving it stock until your warranty expires, you will still really enjoy your bike anyways.
If it is the dealer in Ajax that I am thinking of they are pretty strict about stuff like this.

They are no longer in Ajax. They are in Whitby. They are decent to deal with.
