well i have had my roadster for about 6 weeks now, and just got my saddle bags in with the easy brackets that i ordered. everything looks great but.... the front bolt for one of the brackets evedently isnt straight its canted slightly upwards. Im thinking of pulling the stuff off the fender and beating the @#&# out of the screw to straighten it up.
Has anyone ever ran arcoss this problem in the past? and sugestions before i get the hammer out? thx

I would not recommend beating the bolt. It passes through a carry back of the frame and a welded in bushing and nut. If it is bent it probably would not thread on, if you bend it, it most likely will not. Something else is amiss. The front bolt is the larger and plays a role in holding the fender to the frame. Have you tried to put both bolts on loosely, slip on the bracket to see if it fits? I have had to tweak mine this way several times. Also, the people at Easy Bracket are available for questions and I would give them a call.

the bigger bolt is on the front, it is defiantly canted upward(i have thought about a few wayst to try and bend it down) but ill give the folks at easy bracket a shout. I cant be the first person to have this problem. thanks for the sugestion.

probably cross threaded. have to replace the nut plate on the back side of the fender. if not too bad, put a little wd40 on the EB before you put it on.

quick update, everything worked out this afternoon. i was able to get the brackets on both sides, the bolt wasnt canted as much as i thought. and the moral of this story is not to post when frustrated and half(maybe not even that much) awake.
