Supposed to hold back 1'st and 2'nd gear power. May be seen mainly as more difficult to ride smoothly or more easy to dump going around a corner. I intend to get 1/8 mile numbers on mine before and after. I will post them.

I weigh 250# and Irwindale has about 2" thick of rubber on the start line. I don't think I'll have wheel spin. I do wonder if I'll screw up coming around a first gear corner and getting too heavy on the grip.

She is a bit more touchy, but you will learn to compensate. Just short shift and watch out for banana peels!!

But if you want the feeling you had when you first had the guts to crack first gear wide open but have grown used ot all the time, this is the mod for you.

As far as reduction of power, maybe it would be a plus on the turbo'ed bikes making so much power and torque, and first & second being so low.

In the 1/8 and 1/4? Much faster. Remember, you are getting 10+ more HP/TQ in forst and second, and probably 3-5 more in third. Your MPH will be more or less the same, but the numbers lower.

Got to thinking about this whole discussion about the differences people are having with the HP and Torque. Those of you that are on the low end, 132 or so HP, do you know what gear they are dynoing your bike in. My dealer runs all their dyno pulls in 4th gear. That may be where a big portion of the difference is. My dealer actually ran a run mon my bike in 1st just to see what the difference was and I am running about 133 hp in first but 4th it pulled 142 with 150 ft lbs. Just a tip.

To compare 2 dyno sheets is difficult , as in the temp , atmospheric conditions all make a difference . A cold day(in UK probably) etc will give different reading to a scorching day (in America , def not in Uk ) will give different outputs .

I think

When I ran my Rocket down the 1/4 strip I noticed that 4th gear was only used for the last 50-75 yards and as it is the only totally unrestricted gear I would expect a drop in E.T. with the secondaries derestricted whether it be removal or TuneBoy. Still bloody snowing here. -17 deg. here this morning so no riding for a while yet.

It looks to me that you've just proven the 7% reduction in first gear. :?

I've always been under the assumption that dyno tests were supposed to be done in 4th. Isn't that the standard?
