2007 Rocket III Classic Tourer
Hello all:

I've got an '07 R3 Classic Tourer with just over 16k miles on it. I've had no issues to speak of thus far and have been loving every moment I can spend with the rocket.:D

For the last couple of weeks. I've noticed a strange issue. When I am coming to a stop, I feel a "rubbing" sensation through my left footboard. It decreases in frequency as the bike slows down. There is no noise and I only notice it when I'm going less than 10mph while stopping. It's as if I can feel the last 3 or 4 revolutions of the drive shaft. Also, it's intermittent. I notice it approximately 1 time out of 10.

I was hoping I could let it go until my 20k service. Any thoughts? Of course I don't want to be without my bike during the season. WI has long winters so the dealership can have it for as long as necessary during those months. I'm sure you get my drift.

Does it change when you pull the clutch in and out?
I'm not really sure. I think I notice it more with the clutch in becasue the engine is quieter.

I'm going for a ride tonight. i will make a point to test that out and get back to you.

Thrust slack

I have an 07 Tourer. Over the past month, with 28m behind me, I too have been feeling a drive train change. I'm thinking a thrust bearing. I heard it said but I really have no idea what that is. It just appears to be a thrust slackage that wasn't noticed before. I will tell you that the reoccurence of the timing chain beer can rattle has me torqued!

1:10 occurrences? Only the oldes of contributors might know? BTDSOOM!

sound and feel like a rear brake dragging by any chance?
Excellent skippy: 16,000 ON a pair of rear pads woud not be astronomical. You just don't know.
I have to remark on your sensitivity, benhr8: "third or fourth reveloution of the drive shaft".
And I thought I was discovering my other side.
