I had this program at one time and tuned a bunch of bikes, but my older laptops with the working windows version tanked. Trying to get this downloaded version to work. Win 10, same VAG KKL cable I always used , key on, kill switch to run, and it keeps telling me to try again, check cable, cycle ignition. Any help??

Is the cable showing up in Windows' Device Manager when you plug it into just the laptop (and not bike)?

Should show up as 2 devices.

If it shows up but has a little amber triangle with a ! symbol in it on the device name... then it will be that the cable drivers are not found.
I know Windows 10 had some digital signature enforcement BS for drivers. But it can be worked around.

Let us know!

Hmmm and did this cable work OK before with TuneECU on Windows?
And where did you get it?

Any cable I've had had has 2 devices, e.g. below (bear in mind this is not Windows 10 in the screenshots).
I would advise searching for the 2nd device, you can test if it's the cable or not by unplugging it and seeing if it disappears from the list, and vice versa.

And I would also right click on the device, select update driver manually and direct the browser to where your drivers are saved. To be sure it has the right drivers.

I went and looked again and it shows both those spots same as yours. tried on an older Windows 7 and it can connect to my 2008 1050 Tiger, but still nothing on Win 10---

Yeah Windows 10 was a bit strange alright.
If the Windows 7 laptop isn't a runner or you want to use the Windows 10 one, I'd suggest disabling digital signature enforcement on it, it might be what's preventing use of the drivers for your cable as they don't have a digital signature.

And then manually update the drivers to be sure.

How will I know if the drivers are being installed--have not seen any sign of this, even after disabling digital signature thing---I unistalled and re-installed the software--

You right click on the device in device manager, select update driver and then manually update driver.
So you are kind of forcing the driver update. And you point it to the folder where your drivers are.

And of course do it for both devices in device manager.

And what folder will those drivers be in?
